How much does it cost to Join?
An Annual Membership is only $14.99/month. It will be charged as a one-time fee of $179.88. Another option is to try us for six months, at a rate of $19.99/month. The total charge will be $119.94. Towards the end of your membership period, you will be sent reminder notices 30 days before expiration as well as 10 days before expiration. During that time you can elect to cancel your membership or renew it for another period.
What is a Charter Lifetime Membership?
We are providing the opportunity for up to 25 people to register as Charter Lifetime Members. For a fee of $750 you will be a member for life, with no additional dues owed -- ever! You will be protected from potential dues increases, as you will be pre-paying four years of membership at today's prices. Our Charter Members will receive priority seating at all seated events, as well as other perks. Charter members are our VIPs. The people that were willing to jump in and support us as we got the club started. They are our heroes -- and will be treated as such for life!
What is a Joining Agreement and why do I need to sign it?
DC Active Singles is a membership club that strives to provide its members with the best possible experience in a safe and comfortable environment. Our Joining Agreement includes a Code of Conduct that all members must agree to, as well as our standard Release of Liability waiver and Publicity Release. In order to be a member of DC Active Singles, you must agree to abide by these documents.
Why are you asking for my Spouse's name on the registration form? I thought you were a Singles Club!
DC Active Singles is using the Club Express platform to handle our registration database. Their data entry forms are standardized and can't be edited. Please accept our sincere apologies for any confusion or discomfort this may cause. You can just ignore those fields on the form.
Who is Club Express?
Club Express is the company that DC Active Singles uses to host our website and process all payments. Therefore, when you join DC Active Singles, your Credit Card Statement will show a charge to Club Express.
I am a member, but when I go to register for an event, I still see the non-member price. What am I doing wrong?
When you became a member, you created a username and password. you need to Log In using the "Member Login" at the top of the left column. Once you're in the member website, you can register for events at member prices.
E-mails
I joined your mailing list/club but have not gotten any emails. Why not?
Please check your spam filter! We send out two to three mailings a week. You need to be certain that DCActiveSingles@gmail.com is an allowable address. Also be sure that ClubExpress.com and DCActiveSingles.com are allowable domains. One you tag one of our messages as "not spam," subsequent ones should go to your inbox. If you are still not getting emails, please let us know and we'll forward the issue to tech support.
Events
How many activities do you have each month?
We will have at least 15 events and activities each month.In some months it may be as many as 20. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with a varied and active social life, so you can meet lots of great people, and do lots of things you might not get to do otherwise!
Where are your activities held?
Our activities and events are held throughout the metropolitan DC area, including northern Virginia and Maryland. Weekend trips may venture farther afield.
Are your events Metro-accessible? When practical, we will attempt to meet in a Metro-accessible spot. However this is not always practical. If you do not have a car and need a metro pick-up, please email DCActiveSingles@gmail.com in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Who comes to your events? Our events are attended by DC-area professionals ages 30+.
How many people will I meet? The short answer is - it depends on the event! Each event tends to draw different people, so we've found that the more activities you participate in -- the more people you will meet! On average, our events will each draw between 8 and 35 people; our larger events might draw 100 people or more. We are constantly attracting new members (and non-members who want to check us out), so we guarantee that you'll meet new people each time you come out.
I'm not that comfortable in new situations. How will I meet people? Our staff will begin most events with introductions, so that the proverbial ice has been broken. Rather than fend for yourself in a crowded room of strangers, we provide intimate settings and personal introductions to make your experience more enjoyable.
Do I have to be a member to attend an event? Absolutely not! You can come to any of our events as a non-member and pay a $10 premium. We're pretty sure you'll eventually want to join to take advantage of all the great benefits that membership offers!
